EKO INCIATIVA differentiates between 3 different pillars for professional hygiene: sanitary paper and soap, professional cleaners, and trash bags.
Products, recognised by ECO INICIATIVA as compatible with the product scope of a certain pillar for professional hygiene, need to be sustainable in the strict sense, as well as in the terms of functionality serve as a proper and complete replacement for standard products.
Minimum condition for participation in the ECO INICIATIVA community, within a certain pillar for professional hygiene, is the type I environmental label (EU Ecolabel, Nordic Swan). Related products must be produced in accordance with the latest sustainability standards of the hygiene sector. Products need to add value to the price, need to be ecological, and at the same time they need to provide clear social value. In this way end-users must be made aware that by using such products, not only do they impose less burden on the environment but they also protect it.
Selection for the most appropriate, strictly sustainable, professional cleaning products is currently under way. Eco-friendly professional cleaning products are, given the perceived value and price, generally not considered sustainable. In case you can recommend such sustainable cleaning products, pass on your suggestions, we would be happy to take them into consideration!
Disposable, trash bags, which are in line with the ECO INICIATIVA standards, can be made from OXO biodegradable plastic (PE or PP), may contain additional components (NOT heavy metals), should be tested according to ISO 17088, and totally biodegradable in a reasonable period of time, not exceeding 6 months. Products in line with the standards ASTM D6954, BS8472 or AFNOR AC T51-808 may also qualify. Bioplastic trash bags, made from plants, are not appropriate, neither from the standpoint of economic nor social sustainability, since they are generally made from existing food sources.

From March 30 to April 30, 2017, we are participating in a special Tetra Pak promotion program, taking place in Mercator hypermarkets all over Slovenia, action aimed at stimulating the recycling and proper way of handling the UBCs (Used beverage cartons).
